oach’s Corner is a new addition to Lincoln High School this year. It is an effort to join the students, parents and community with the Athletic Department at Lincoln. Coach’s Corner is held monthly in the ROTC room at 6:00 p.m. It’s hosted by Debra Stephens, Lincoln Alumni - Class of '73. It is set up with interviews and Q and A sessions with different people involved in athletics at Lincoln.
The first Coach’s Corner was held on Oct. 26. The coaches that were in attendance were Coach Barnes, Dae-Dae and Hamamoto, all for football. Parents, students and other Lincoln staff attended and were involved. Parents asked questions that focused on the football season so far, freshman teams and how the coaches were dealing with academics. Coaches discussed how they keep their players motivated and inspired. Also, about the fundamentals of the game and how to teach new players and encourage returners.
When asked about the record of the football team, Coach Hamamoto said, “ Nobody wants to lose, the only thing we can do is try harder. We will be ready for the playoffs.”
The next Coach’s Corner will be held today, November 30. It will be held in the ROTC room (1416) @ 6:00 p.m. It is open to the public and parents and students are encouraged to attend.
