C
lass of 2015 is official. They have established a freshman cabinet to represent their class. Associated Student Body, also known as A.S.B., is in charge of raising funds for their peers as well as organizing events such as pep rallies, dances, blood drives, publicity, food fairs and fundraisers for the student body. Each class has their own ASB representatives and the freshmen where elected back in September.
“I did something similar in middle school, so I knew it would be fun. Plus it would look really good on my college applications,” said Jade Shields, the president of the freshman class, when asked about what motivated her to become one of her class representatives.
Jade is not the only one who thought that being apart of ASB would be something fun. “It sounded like something interesting and so far I like it a lot,” said Alex Phoudauong, whose job it is to keep track of the money being spent. Alex and Jade added that they would love for their freshmen peers to get involved in activities, and to contact them for further information. The freshmen this year won both spirit activities at the first pep rally.
Ms. Weber, a teacher at Lincoln in Public Safety, has been assigned to oversee the freshman ASB. The Sophomore class advisor, Ms.Gray, offered her some friendly advice. “Let the students come up with as many ideas as possible and to try and set up meetings with them at least once a week,” she said.
